About ‘Hello To Heaven’ CD #HelloToHeaven

HELLO TO HEAVEN is the title of the newest CD independently released by Acel.

From the cry of her heart towards the plight of underprivileged Filipino children, Acel has compiled a collection of six (6) beautifully written, all-original songs that will inspire us all to love with a compassion like never before.

“Hello to Heaven” was actually inspired by the very last Facebook status message of her dear friend Adrian Fullon who’d posted those words just a week before he abruptly passed away, barely in his early 30s. Acel says, “I want to take Adrian’s story and turn it into a legacy”.

Adrian’s compassion to help the poor brought him to volunteer day-in-and-day-out with underprivileged children. If you listen to the song, Acel inspires us all to bring “heaven” to where we are by loving and serving others. We really can say “hello to heaven” on this earth and in this lifetime.

Acel takes it a step further in her song “Liliwanag” [Shine].

Her chorus sings “Isa-isa tayo’ng lilipad, haharap sa ating bukas, at sama-sama nating itatayo nag bawa’t isa..at tayo’y liliwanag” [Together we will fly, together, we will face tomorrow, and together we will build each other up, and shine] “Liliwanag” is an empowering song that challenges us all to work together and do things together for the benefit of others. In the mix are also some beautifully written love songs. Acel’s song “Nakalimutan mo na ba?” [Did you forget?] points us all to the beauty of forgiveness and takes us back to the basics of all that is important in our relationships. Her sweet song “Hintay” [Wait], a message for anxious teenagers makes us appreciate the beauty of waiting (for the right one).

If you’ve let go of someone you love, you’ll definitely relate to her song “Goodbye David” which Acel wrote way back in 2001. The song starts slow and soft and surprises you with dramatic emotion-filled vocals and you will really feel the agony and pain in letting go and moving on.

The last track “Pambihirang Pagkakataon” [Serendipity Moments] is actually a song that Acel is working on turning into a book. Anyone who knows a little bit of her stories in her 18-year history in the OPM music industry will conclude, a simple, shy girl like Acel traveling the world, singing in front of thousands, “who would have thought?”

In terms of the style of sound, the CD gives us six (6) tracks of life-empowering and inspiring songs of alternative-pop music mixed with electronic loops, an infectious yet slightly experimental beat, and catchy electric guitar riffs and ad-libs masterfully produced and recorded by the genius master producer himself, Jack Rufo.

Jack Rufo is also the brains behind the makings of award-winning albums and concerts for artists like Barbie Almalbis, Kitchie Nadal and Yeng Constantino. Jack Rufo definitely captured the emotions of the lyrics of Acel’s songs. The quality, the beat, the arrangement and the loops of the music gives an easy recall to any listener of all ages.

Hello To Heaven Night

It was an amazing night! 800+ people came, and they encountered the presence of God. It was more than an event..As my friend Thammie Sy said, “It was their appointment with the KING”  :)

Some people came and witness for the first time what worshipping God really meant.  Gifted and talented musicians humbled themselves..led the people to declare God’s greatness and goodness through songs…lifting up only one name—the name that is above all names- Jesus.

Personally, I was so glad to share the stage with some worship leaders from diff local churches (Adriel from His Life City Church Pampanga, Mitchelle Santiago from History Makers) Worship Directors - Lee Brown of Victory Malate, Yan Asuncion of Victory QC, Jam Capistrano of Victory Ortigas, Charles Bautista of Victory Greenhills backed up with talented professional musicians- Jack Rufo, Karmi Santiago, JJ Manansala and Tep Lachica from JIL, Julie Samonte, Paul Ibarra and Rey Lizardo.

It just shows that we are one in Christ.

It was also amazing to sing with Emman, Barbie and Yeng and hear their testimonies on how God has changed their lives.  As we sang together, we just declared that Jesus is the superstar in our lives.

It was truly humbling when God had empowered me to speak in front of the crowd about who He is, what He has done..and what worship is.  God’s presence was very tangible for me at that moment.   He just led me in the things I needed to share.

One highlight that truly blessed my heart is when Destiny Tan- a 6 yr old girl in our church led us all in worship.  Yeng, Barbie and I sang back up for her…and it just showed that all of us are called to worship. We shouldn’t let our age, status, profession, etc be a hindrance to worship.. We are created to worship..God created us for Himself.

I am grateful for all the volunteers and staff who invested their time and energy in this endeavor. Thank you!

To all of you who came, thank you. I believe God has put something in your heart..I hope you’ll treasure it and answer HIs call.  I pray that we were able to catch the truth that night..that as we let God’s kingdom come in our lives, we can truly do the works of the kingdom….and bring heaven wherever we are.
